This is a report of various statistical measures of the U.S. Social Security \u201cBaby Names\u201d database. Analyses include trends and predictions about popular names, surges in specific name occurrences over time, trends in name complexity and pronounceability, palindromic names, sexually ambiguous names, \u201cforgotten\u201d names that have fallen out of use, and more. Some of the unexpected findings include a trend toward less pronounceable names, and lexical evidence that girls are not pink and boys are not blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
